About Us

Our purpose is to glorify God by obeying His Greatest Commandments:

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and with all your mind. And the second is this; you shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

The best way to express our true love towards the God almighty and to humanity is to obey His Great Commission! Therefore, our missional vision is to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every Muslim in the world and to make disciples of all the nations!

We depend on the transforming power of the Holy Spirit, the Word of God, and prayer to make us more like Jesus Christ. We stand together in the truth of God’s inerrant Word, celebrating the faith once for all delivered to His chosen. God is the God of all nations and all generations, Lord has given us the authority, power, and responsibility to present the Gospel of His salvation to all nations until He comes. Therefore, we love to work with all the followers of Christ Jesus for the Gospel, the Kingdom of Christ, and the glory of God.

Since 1995, Love and Peace Ministry has been striving to instill among Muslim communities of Hong Kong that “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

OUR HISTORY

In 1995, Pastor Kamran visited Hong Kong in search of finding a Christian church, organization or an individual with a heart to reach out to People from Muslim countries with the Love of God. He prayed for Lord’s help and guidance to find people whom God has chosen for this crucial mission in Hong Kong. After prayer as the Lord guided him he went to the Baptist Convention of Hong Kong, where he met Rev. Peter Tsui who was the deputy Executive Director of the Baptist Convention of Hong Kong at the time. After sharing a lengthy discussion about the potential outreach of Ethnic Minorities in Hong Kong, Rev. Peter Tsui told him that the Baptist convention of HK has been praying for this crucial importance of a mission outreach for the EMs in Hong Kong and gave Kamran full support and confidence to establish an active organization that would reach out to the Muslims of Hong Kong.

Pastor Kamran started to visit ethnic minorities from door-to-door and talk to passing pedestrians in order to raise some awareness. Through these encounters, a home Bible study fellowship was formed for the Indian-Pakistani Hindus and Muslims. On November 10th of 1996, this small cell group was able to grow to become the Indo-Pak Chapel of IBC HK, the first Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi speaking Church in the history of Hong Kong with the name “Indo-Pak Chapel”. The Indo-Pak Chapel inaugurated in the home of Brother James Paul and then took place in many different homes since IBC (International Baptist Church of Hong Kong) didn’t have enough space to host the Indo-Pak. But despite these limitations, the Indo-Pak Chapel continued to grow with the love of Jesus.

The Indo-Pak team wished to establish this ministry in solid and wise ways, armed with the help and advice of partners. Pastor Kamran saw the great importance of encouraging, challenging, and training more people in Hong Kong in order for his work and ministry to be established further. So Pastor Kamran started to preach in different churches and Christian organizations and conduct seminars in various gatherings with the help of Christian partners such as Brother Lawrence Wu and his team. Since our work is all about sharing God’s Love and proclaiming His Peace, it was decided that our Ministry be named “Love and Peace”. The name of our Ministry embodies everything we stand for. With Love and Peace, we wish to reach all, with the helping hand of God.

In 1995, there wasn’t a single Christian organization or church that was reaching out to Muslims with the Gospel in Hong Kong. But by the Grace of God, today, there are several Christian organizations and churches that have come forward to reach out to the Muslims of Hong Kong. Hallelujah, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” Luke 10:2

Minister In-charge – Jacqueline Chan Ho Na

Pastor Jacqueline Chan is one of our long serving Ministry leaders. She was one of the first major financial supporters of Love and Peace up until the depletion of her financial resources.

Pastor Jacqueline previously ran a carpet business, which entailed frequent travel to Islamic countries Iran, Turkey, Pakistan, India, as well as the Middle East and Central Asia. Our Lord has been using her experiences and knowledge to be His faithful witness to so many lost souls. She shares God’s love and the good news to many Pakistanis, Chinese, Indonesians and Malaysians with courage, boldness, and faithfulness. She participates fully in event planning, and ministry work. Her work includes arranging Seminars on inter-faith dialogues so people may better understand the Bible with the ultimate purpose of sharing the Gospel. She also leads home bible studies for women, disciples MB female converts and visits prisons and detention centers to comfort the inmates through the gospel.

Pastor Jacqueline Chan has been serving the Pakistani community before Love and Peace Ministry even began. She is the backbone of our Ethnic Minorities (South Asian) Ministry in Hong Kong. After completion of her Bachelor of Theology Pastor Jacqueline Chan was ordained in April 2013, since then she has been serving as a senior Pastor of Love and Peace Baptist Chapel.
